Unless you are lucky enough to grow most of your own food we have all noticed how prices cotinue to rise on our weekly grocery trips. Here are some great ideas to help you keep these costs down using only your a browser and a printer.
First you should begin by going to your favorite local grocery stores websites and print out their weekly sales flyer for items that you might need or want to stock up on. Once you know what is on sale and what you need, you can then begin with some of the strategies below.
-- Local Sunday paper: It is typically full of coupons you can cut out. Also note that you may have several local papers so picking up one of each might be of value. Many folks have also shared that it may be a good idea to flip through the paper first before buying it, but that is up to you. If you see coupons you really value pick up more than one copy.
-- Online Printable Manufacturer's Coupons: Here are three sites that are generally the most chalked with a large variety of product coupons:
- Coupons.com - You can print out two copies of every coupon per computer, so once you print out one copy go back and select the coupon a second time and print it once more as desired.
- SmartSource.com - You can also print two copies of every coupon, per computer based on the maximum for that particular coupon.
- RedPlum.com - Also very popular and rounds out the top three grocery coupon providers.
Note: Each of these three providers do require a small browser plugin in order to allow you to print and make sure you do not print more than the maximum number of coupons allowed. This installation is only the first time you print and does not have to be done on subsequent visits.
-- Dollar or Percentage Off Store Coupons: Recently we have seen many large grocery stores provide coupons, such as $5 off $50 purchases or more, which can be stacked with all of your manufacturer's coupons to sweeten your deal even more. These are sometimes sent in the mail, but most of the time appear in the weekly ad flyers so be sure to look.
-- Competitor Coupon Matching: Make sure you check with your local stores to see if they will match either competitor sales prices, or competitor store coupons. If they do you can then combine a manufacturer's coupon with a store coupon, and a competitors coupon as well.
-- Coupon Doubling: Remember to check your grocery store as a large number are now doubling coupons up to .50 cents.
-- Payment Options: Remember to utilize any credit card that might have special cash back or rebates on grocery store purchases, or just a specially high cash back for a period of time. These kinds of discounts stack with everything else.
