Monday, January 23 marks the opening of tax season, not to be confused with hunting season (although we understand if you feel that way). - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance: The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) is an IRS sponsored program that uses trained tax volunteers to help you complete basic state and federal tax returns. - Important Filing Dates & Deadlines in 2023: a.) e-Filing officially beings on 1/23/23, b.) Tax filings are due via mail or submitted online (e-Filed) by April 18, 2023 unless extended by a state holiday, c.) Tax payers requesting an extension will have until Monday, October 16 2023 to file.
